We recently had the opportunity to help with some custom adjustments for an internal event system for one of our clients. They were using a plugin to assist with scheduling events and showing them on their website, but they were limited in their ability to add additional information to the events. In addition, while each event could in theory have its own page, the way the theme was set up didn’t quite allow for this.
Event Modifications
So we ended up making some modifications in their theme, and also integrated it with the Advanced Custom Fields plugin. Now each event has a dedicated page, and the website owners have the ability to add additional information and buttons there.
In addition, we also did a complete overhaul from WordPress 4.9 and PHP 5.6 to WordPress 5.0.1 and PHP 7.2. Now this website is perfectly primed to attract a lot more traffic in terms of their events, and is all set for the future having both an updated WordPress version and the state-of-the-art in terms of PHP.
